Live Birds and Reptiles from the Denver Zoo visit the CU Museum of Natural History | Community Spirit

Join professional educators from the Denver Zoo at 6 and 7:15 p.m., on Monday, February 27 at the University of Colorado Museum of Natural History to explore the reptilian science of live snakes, lizards, turtles and crocodilians, and get up close with live birds that may include raptors, a macaw, and/or a laughing kookaburra while learning about flight, communications and adaptions. To allow audiences to get close to the animals reservations are recommended for this popular event. Please RSVP to the museum at 303-492-6892.

The reptilian and bird sessions will be held concurrently in the museum’sPaleontology Hall and Changing Gallery at 6 p.m.; both of the sessions willrepeat at 7:15 p.m. This will give audiences the opportunity to fully enjoyboth programs. While interacting with the live animals is the highlight of this event, Denver Zoo educators will also share touchable feathers, skulls, skins and skeletons.

University of Colorado Museum of Natural History Program Specialist Andrea Kaufman Robbins emphasizes, “Because of its content and nature this program is geared toward adults and university students.”

The museum is in the Henderson Building at 15th Street and Broadway. Limited parking is available to the public in lot #208 on the south side of the museum. After 5 p.m. the cost is $3 at this and all CU parking lots.
