State introduces new child welfare plan | Families

Governor John Hickenlooper and Reggie Bicha, Executive Director of the Department of Human Services, will introduce a new Child Welfare plan for the state of Colorado, February 16, 2 p.m., The Kempe Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Child Abuse and Neglect, The Gary Pavilion at Children’s Hospital Colorado, 13123 E. 16th Ave., Anschutz Medical Campus, Aurora (map attached).

Keeping Kids Safe and Families Healthy, is a set of core strategies to ensure the safety of children and well-being of families, including the implementation of a new best practices model, development of a new performance management system, training redesign, and enhanced family engagement.

The event will include the Governor’s insights on the plan as well as an in-depth discussion of the elements of the plan from Director Bicha.
