Free coffee at McDonald's in Denver and the Front Range

WHAT:             Free coffee is back! Once again, McDonald’s will be giving away free coffee for two weeks! They are confident that when consumers try their tasty, high quality coffee, they’ll love it! Customers can pick up a FREE Small Premium Roast Coffee from Monday, February 20 – Sunday, March 4th in the drive thru or inside the restaurant at any participating McDonald’s in Denver and the Front Range.

Mayor Hancock cooking tomorrow ahead of Denver Restaurant Week

WHAT:      Denver Mayor Michael B. Hancock will join up to 337 of Denver’s top chefs during a press conference to officially announce Denver Restaurant Week, the largest culinary celebration in Denver’s history, and the largest restaurant week in the nation for the second year in a row. Mayor Hancock will toast to the chefs, and flip a Denver omelet with Jorge de la Torre, Dean of Culinary Education at Johnson & Wales University, in honor of the event.   

Denver Restaurant Week 2012 offers sneak peek at menus

The eighth annual Denver Restaurant Week (DRW), presented by VISIT DENVER, The Convention & Visitors Bureau, will be held Feb. 25 to March 9, 2012, with nearly 300 restaurants offering multi-course meals for the “Mile High” fixed-price of $52.80 for two, $26.40 for one, tax and tip not included.

Visitors bureau says Denver Restaurant Week is nation's largest event of its kind

The visitors bureau for Denver says the city now has the nation's largest restaurant week based on the number of participating restaurants.

Visit Denver, The Convention and Visitors Bureau said Wednesday that 303 restaurants offered multicourse meals last Feb. 25 to March 11 for the special price of $52.80 for two people, or $26.40 for one. The number of participating restaurants was up 7 percent from 2010.

Based on survey results, the bureau estimates 360,480 meals were served, which is also up about 7 percent from last year.

Happy hour to help disadvantaged children in Denver

With the hope of providing a better life for children in the local community, the Mile High Society Project will host its next social benefit event for The Denver Active 20-30 Children’s Foundation Feb. 3 at The Whiskey Bar Downtown. A $15 donation at the door goes straight into the pockets of the selected beneficiary – and gets attendees a complimentary cocktail and appetizers. Altitude Peak Fitness will guest host the event, providing support and collaboration.

The Mile High Society Project launched in August 2010 and holds happy hour benefit events the first Thursday of every month for a different non-profit at a different bar or restaurant. Locals are encouraged to “party for a purpose” and give back to local social causes while networking and socializing at various Denver hotspots.

Chipotle to host Denver B-cycle fundraiser

On Sept. 11, seven Chipotle locations in and near downtown Denver will host a fundraiser benefitting Denver Bike Sharing, the Colorado nonprofit that owns and operations Denver B-cycle.

Garbanzo Mediterranean Grill, a Denver-based fast-casual restaurant concept featuring fresh, healthy Mediterranean cuisine, today announced the grand opening of its newest location in Denver’s University Hills area.
